Welcome to our incoming President....
Welcome Bulldog Fans
My name is Vince Curtis and I am the 2011 Gridiron Club President. I served as the Vice President last year and I am pleased and excited about what this parent / alumni group has to offer.
I have worked at Brad and Burke Heating for the last 23 years. I am married (Diahann) and have two sons, Cameron - soph & Casey - 8th grade. I was the head coach of the Ellensburg Grid Kids in 2009 and have been involved with Ellensburg Youth Baseball / Softball and Babe Ruth.
I would encourage all fans to take advantage of all the Gridiron Club has to offer. Our goal is to provide the public with information about the current season, assist our coaches, and provide a rewarding experience for our players. My hope would be that all fans join us to make this the best season yet.
Vince Curtis
And Thank You to our outgoing President....
Wow!
What a great and successful year the Gridiron club had! First of all, I would like to thank everyone involved with this program. From the cheerleaders, to the band, to community, for all of their hard work, dedication and keeping the spirit of the Bulldogs so strong, thank you! We are very fortunate to live in such a great town; even at the away games, we filled the stands! And last but not least the parents....we could not of done this with out the effort of everyone. Thank you all so much for your generosity and involvement in the Gridiron club.
To recap, a few of the things we did this year: We hosted the 7 on 7 tournament in early June that was very successful. We received lots of positive feedback and we plan on expanding it this coming year to have a lineman challenge. Our “kick-off BBQ” was another success. We also painted the fields for every home game, they always looked the best in the league. We also made sure the Ellensburg Football signs went up for every home game and were taken down early Saturday by a dedicated parent. Another success was the team dinner every Thursday night, where we served dinner to all the football players and coaches. We also helped purchase a new sound system for the stadium so we could clearly understand our great announcer. We also made sure our one-of-a-kind, fantastic program rooster was handed out at every home game. And who can forget the successful WHITE OUT GAME?
What a great idea. We also hosted the greatest end-of-season banquet ever, thank you Carol. Another big challenge we tackled was hosting the 1st Annual Football Camp in late July. That was so rewarding, not only for all of our players, but 7 other teams as well. We are already planning for this summers camp and with more great ideas! It’s going to be bigger and better.
This last year was filled with lots of hard work but spending time with the coaches, staff, parents, and all of the players was worth it. So as I leave my position of President, I encourage each and every parent to get involved. It makes you a part of the team, the high school, and the community. And for all of the parents, grandparents and volunteers that helped on a few hours notice, thank you! We couldn’t have done it without you!
Go Bulldogs! Lori Haberman
